Valentines I Spy Game: A Fun Counting Adventure!
You know what I absolutely love about Valentine’s Day activities? They’re colorful, fun, and kids actually get excited about counting when there are hearts and chocolates involved!
I created this Valentines I Spy game because counting activities are such a sneaky way to make math practice feel like playtime. And honestly, I’m all about anything that keeps kids engaged while learning.
The best part? This game is completely free and designed to save your printer ink (because let’s be real, we’ve all had those moments when the color cartridge runs out at the worst possible time). It’s black and white on purpose, which means your little ones can color in the pictures as they find them. Two activities in one – counting AND coloring!
This I Spy printable is actually part of my bigger Valentine’s Day Worksheets Bundle that’s available in my store, but I wanted to give you this one for free because I genuinely believe every kid should have access to fun learning activities.
Whether you’re a parent looking for a quiet afternoon activity, a teacher prepping for a Valentine’s party, or a homeschooler adding some seasonal fun to your math lessons – this game has got you covered!

Printing Tips

Good news! While this game is designed for A4 size (210 x 297mm), you can absolutely print it on US Letter paper (216 x 279mm).
Here’s how to get the best results:
- For US Letter paper:
- Choose “Fit to Page” in your printer settings
- This will automatically adjust the content to fit perfectly on your paper
- All the images and boxes will still be clear and easy to see
- For A4 paper:
- Select “Actual Size” or “100%” in your printer settings
- The game will print exactly as designed
Quick Tip: Do a test print in black and white first to make sure everything looks good with your printer settings!
Tips for Parents and Teachers
I’ve found these strategies super helpful:
- Make it a team activity – search together!
- Use a clear sheet protector to make it reusable
- Turn it into a race for older kids who love a challenge
- Use it during holiday parties as a quiet activity
- Let kids use different colors for different objects they find
- Make it special by using glitter crayons or sparkly markers
- Create a color key for younger learners (e.g., “color all hearts red”)
