What’s Included

  • Easy version — larger grid, fewer words, great for younger kids (ages 6–7) or early readers
  • Harder version — more words, words hidden in additional directions, better for ages 8–9
  • Answer key — included for both versions so you’re not hunting for hidden words yourself
  • Black and white format — prints cleanly on any standard printer, no color ink needed

What You Need to Print and Use This Printable

All you need is a printer and plain paper to get started. But if you want to get more use out of this printable, here are a few supplies worth having on hand.

A laminator — If you plan to reuse the word search across multiple kids or school years, laminating is the easiest way to do it. Run the printed sheet through once and it holds up to dry-erase markers without smearing. See our recommended laminator →

Laminating pouches — You’ll need pouches to go with it. Standard letter-size pouches fit this printable perfectly. Grab a pack here →

Dry-erase markers — Once laminated, kids can circle words with a dry-erase marker and you just wipe it clean for the next use. A thin-tip set works best for word searches. Our pick for dry-erase markers →

Cardstock — If you don’t want to laminate but still want a sturdier print, cardstock is a simple upgrade from regular printer paper. It holds up better during an Easter party or when small hands are involved. Get cardstock here →

Easter pencils — If you’re tucking this into an Easter basket, a pack of Easter-themed pencils makes a nice pairing. Low cost, no batteries, and kids actually use them. See Easter pencil sets →

How to Use This Easter Word Search

Early finishers. Keep a stack printed and ready. When a student finishes work early, this gives them something purposeful to do without disrupting others.

Easter basket filler. Tuck a printed copy into an Easter basket alongside crayons or a small pencil. It’s a low-cost, screen-free addition kids will actually use.

Classroom centers. Drop a few copies into a literacy or writing center during the week before Easter. It reinforces word recognition without needing any teacher instruction.

Quiet time at home. Good for mornings, car rides, or any stretch of downtime. Kids ages 6–9 can work through it independently.

Easter party activity. If you’re running an Easter party or egg hunt, this makes a good filler activity while you wait for all the kids to arrive or finish.

Laminate and reuse. Print on cardstock, laminate it, and let kids use dry-erase markers. You can reuse the same sheet across multiple kids or multiple years.
