Coconut oil has become very popular lately. The list of coconut oil uses is endless and not many people are aware of its benefits on our skin and body.
The web is filled with all the benefits coconut oil has that’s why I wanted to start using it ASAP.

Therefore, I’ve bought a giant jar of coconut oil to use it on my bump when I was pregnant. But because I started to get nausea from its smell and I just couldn’t use it anymore. So it ended up tossed away in my bathroom’s cabinet.

Now I am ready to use it again, so I went on Pinterest to find some awesome ideas.

I consider this a miracle and very versatile product that can be used for literally anything you want.

There are tons of uses actually, but today I’m going to share with you my top 5 coconut oil uses.

1.Coconut oil as a makeup remover

This is probably my favorite way to use coconut oil. It’s extremely nourishing for my skin. I just love how my skin feels after using it.

You might already know about my obsession with oil-based makeup removers since I discovered the one from The Body Shop. See my full review here.

Although I haven’t tested it out with waterproof makeup yet, so far it has worked very well for me.

I tend to use it as a first cleanser in the evening. This is because it leaves a tiny layer of oiliness on my skin. So if you do not like that, I recommend using either a toner or a second cleanser after the coconut oil.

In terms of usage, it’s not too difficult. All you do is grab some of the product onto your fingers, rub it into your hands until it melts and then massage it onto your face using circular motions.

After that rinse with warm water or use a damp face towel. And you’re done!

Now your face is clean and moisturized at the same time.

2. Coconut oil as a Lip balm

This is pretty self-explanatory.

It’s also very nourishing for your lips. I think this is my favorite of the coconut oil uses. It’s my go-to lip product.

Tip: take a travel size pot and put some product in it for your bag. This way you can have it on hand at all times.

3. Coconut oil for your homemade remedies

I love making at home face or hair masks. This way I can have control over the ingredients and include only the most beneficial ones.

Coconut oil has become one of my favorites ingredients for these masks. Before I used to use olive oil, but now I switched to coconut oil. A total game changer. I find that coconut oil has more benefits than the olive oil.

Leave me your email address if you’d like me to send you a list with my favorites homemade masks. You can also print it out for easy access.

4. Coconut oil as a moisturizer

I read online how good coconut oil is for stretch marks. Therefore I wanted to try it out.

It’s a natural ingredient perfect to use on pregnant women and babies. When pregnant, I decided to avoid harsh chemicals. That’s when I started using it on my bump to keep it moisturized and hopefully prevent any stretch marks.

Unfortunately, my body rejected its smell gave me nausea. So I had to stop using it and can’t talk much about this topic.  But as little as I used it I was pretty satisfied with the results.

You can easily use it as a body cream as well. Some moms use it as a nappy cream too. I need to try this myself, but never got the chance.

5. Coconut oil for cooking

I think most people use coconut oil for cooking, except me hahaha.

To be honest with you I don’t really use it as often for cooking. I noticed a sweet and coconutty taste after cooking.

Conclusions

These are my top 5 coconut oil uses. I really hope you’ve found this article helpful.

I would love to read in the comments what your favorite coconut oil uses are.

The question of the day: what do you use coconut oil for? Can’t wait to read your response.

Until next time, take care & stay beautiful!
