Entertaining a baby is a little tricky, especially if it’s your first baby. Some things come naturally, and others not, but it’s always a good idea to get inspiration from other moms. In today’s article, I’m sharing my top 0 to 3-month-old baby activities.
You might think that your baby is too small for this age, but keep in mind that these are not proper sit-down activities. Besides eating, sleeping, and lots of diaper changes, your baby’s schedule should involve playtimes. It’s a great way to keep them entertained and “make” them tired to have a better sleep.
All these baby activity ideas are going to boost your baby’s speech development and listening skills. They will start talking earlier, and you’ll be a very proud mom.

Singing
It’s time to learn some nursery rhymes and sing them to your baby. Singing is a fantastic way for your little one to start learning new words, intonations, and lots more.
Talking
An excellent way for your baby to learn new words is to talk to him/her daily and walk through what you are doing.

Tummy time
Start as soon as possible with tummy time. It will help your little one hold the small heads and strengthen those neck muscles. They’ll also learn to roll over. No baby is happy with tummy time, especially in the beginning, but don’t give up. Little by little, they’ll love it! Make tummy time more fun by placing some toys around your baby, such as rattles, teethers, mirrors, etc.
Baby massage
There are many baby massage classes, and most of them are free, so definitely check them out. If you don’t feel like going out, with the COVID pandemic, you can find many videos on YouTube.
Bicycle time
It refers to a “workout” activity I used to do for my son when he was a baby. He loved it! It will help loosen those muscles, and he will be more relaxed.

Black & white
Did you know that newborns can’t see colors in those first months? It’s because the baby’s vision is still developing. Help him/her see patterns using these FREE printable high contrast cards.
Babywearing
Skin to skin is vital, especially in the beginning, so babywearing will allow you to take care of some house chores while holding your newborn.
Mirror play
In my world, it used to be an old wife tail or even a superstition, but mirrors are a fantastic way to entertain a newborn. They are fascinated by their reflection.
Imitation
Entertain your baby by imitating their facial expressions and sounds or making silly faces.
Mobiles
Mobiles or hanging toys are quite popular; I think every newborn baby has one. They are super entertaining for the little ones, plus they are mesmerized by them.
Swing, baby swing
The little ones love movements; therefore, swings or hammocks are an excellent activity for the little ones. Don’t forget the airplane game – which is another favorite.

Dancing
We love dancing in our family! Now that my son is three years old, it feels more like jumping, but it is an excellent activity for babies anyway.
Soft toys, rattles & teethers
These are must-haves in any baby’s life – lots of options, and you can’t go wrong with any of them.
Ballons
I’ve seen lots of images on Pinterest with babies who have balloons tightened to their legs and arms – looks super fun for them, I’ve never tried this before, but for sure it’s worth it.
